Saint Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church (WELS) is my life-long home congregation, seven generations of my family have attended St. Peter. We have approximately 900 members. Jesus Is the Only Way
I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. [John 14:6].
Preach Nothing Except Jesus Christ and Him Crucified
When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power. [1 Corinthians 2:1-5].
I No Longer Live, but Christ Lives In Me
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. [Galatians 2:20].
Christ Entered the True Temple in Heaven Itself
For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. [Hebrews 9:24].
Christ Offered One Sacrifice Once for All
But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool, because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. [Hebrews 10:12-14].
The Lord Alone Is Our Life
But be sure you do not eat the blood, because the blood is the life, and you must not eat the [animal's] life with the meat. You must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water. [Deuteronomy 12:23-24].
This cup is the new covenant in my blood . . . Drink from it, all of you. [Luke 22:20 & Matthew 26:27].
I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God . . . [Galatians 2:20].
Acceptable Worship
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire. [Hebrews 12:28-29].
