Up Through Endless Ranks of Angels

He has raised our human nature
On the clouds to God’s right hand;
There we sit in heav’nly places,
There with Him in glory stand.
Jesus reigns, adored by angels;
Man with God is on the throne.
By our mighty Lord’s ascension
We by faith behold our own.

  1. How is man with God on the throne? I know we will have a certain amount of responsibility, but I don’t think we will occupy the same position as him.

  2. Hello Daniel. “Man with God is on the throne” refers to Jesus who is fully God and fully man. Jesus is a human being, bone of our bone and flesh of our flesh (Genesis 2:23 & 3:15), but he is also fully God (John 8:58), and he rules from the throne of heaven (Ephesians 4:10). As Christians we can say that He is our true brother:

    Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'” [John 20:17].

    May God bless you!
